What is Z-Wave?

Z-Wave is the international wireless protocol for communication in the Smart Home. This device is suited for use in the region mentioned in the Quickstart section.

Z-Wave ensures a reliable communication by reconfirming every message (two-way communication) and every mains powered node can act as a repeater for other nodes (meshed network) in case the receiver is not in direct wireless range of the transmitter.

This device and every other certified Z-Wave device can be used together with any other certified Z-Wave device regardless of brand and origin as long as both are suited for the same frequency range.

If a device supports secure communication it will communicate with other devices secure as long as this device provides the same or a higher level of security. Otherwise it will automatically turn into a lower level of security to maintain backward compatibility.

Product Description

Smart air purifier for smaller rooms.
The TESLA Smart Air Purifier Mini has enough performance to clean and refresh air in smaller rooms up to 14 m2 in size. It captures dust and pollen and takes care of unpleasant odors while also eliminating viruses and bacteria. What is more, this smart assistant can be operated easily through a mobile app available for both iOS and Android.

Night Mode.
Night mode dims all the light on the device and reduces the speed of the ventilator to drop the noise level down. You can keep the TESLA Smart Air Purifier Mini running all night without being interrupted.

Ionization.
The negative ion generator produces a large number of negative ions, eliminates odors, has a strong absorption capability. The negative ion will make bacteria lose their activity and make them harmless. Negative ions also make the air feel fresh, just like after the rain.

Activated Carbon Filter.
The carbon filter is very effective in absorption of volatile organic compounds, including unpleasant smells and many kinds of polluting gases.

HEPA Filter.
HEPA is an acronym that stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Air. It can drastically reduce the spread of allergens and bacteria in airflow, such as pollen, smog, and viruses. The HEPA filter was originally developed for NASA, and it been widely used in hospitals, to keep the air clean and harmless.

Washable Pre-filter.
Uses micron mesh filter, effectively block 2.5mm fibrous particulate matter. It can be cleaned easily up to ten thousand times, preventing large particles such as pet fur, dander, and coarse dust, etc.

App TESLA Smart.
Easy control from anywhere provided by the mobile app. Makes life easier by setting up automations and connecting to the TESLA Smart product ecosystem.

The filter captures more than 99 % of all particles.
The purifier comes with a multi-layered HEPA filter which captures all hair, hairs and microparticles up to 0,3 micrometers in size, which is about 100 times less than the diameter of a human hair. Pollen and dust cannot go through it, either, making it a great solution for asthmatics and individuals suffering from allergies.

Easy control via the app.
All the functions of the air purifier can be conveniently controlled via a mobile app that is available in English language for both iOS and Android. It connects the air purifier to other products in the Tesla Smart ecosystem and sets up handy automations. Have you arrived home? The air purifier starts working immediately. Have you opened a window? It switches off. You can also turn on the timer or auto mode. Many different scenarios can be set up. Let smart products react for you, saving time and money. To be certain that everything is properly paired, make sure you have 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

It handles PM0.5 particles as well.
A set of quality filters designed to achieve the highest efficiency captures even the smallest particles with a diameter of only 0.5 µm.

Prepare for Installation / Reset

Please read the user manual before installing the product.

In order to include (add) a Z-Wave device to a network it must be in factory default state. Please make sure to reset the device into factory default. You can do this by performing an Exclusion operation as described below in the manual. Every Z-Wave controller is able to perform this operation however it is recommended to use the primary controller of the previous network to make sure the very device is excluded properly from this network.

Safety Warning for Mains Powered Devices

ATTENTION: only authorized technicians under consideration of the country-specific installation guidelines/norms may do works with mains power. Prior to the assembly of the product, the voltage network has to be switched off and ensured against re-switching.

Inclusion/Exclusion

On factory default the device does not belong to any Z-Wave network. The device needs to be added to an existing wireless network to communicate with the devices of this network. This process is called Inclusion.

Devices can also be removed from a network. This process is called Exclusion. Both processes are initiated by the primary controller of the Z-Wave network. This controller is turned into exclusion respective inclusion mode. Inclusion and Exclusion is then performed doing a special manual action right on the device.

Quick trouble shooting

Here are a few hints for network installation if things dont work as expected.

  1. Make sure a device is in factory reset state before including. In doubt exclude before include.
  2. If inclusion still fails, check if both devices use the same frequency.
  3. Remove all dead devices from associations. Otherwise you will see severe delays.
  4. Never use sleeping battery devices without a central controller.
  5. Dont poll FLIRS devices.
  6. Make sure to have enough mains powered device to benefit from the meshing
